Plumbers who start with the shutoff
We are a plumbing company working out of an office on Huntingdon Pike, right at the Northeast Philadelphia line. Here is how we work.
The work we take on
Our plumbers clear drains and main sewer lines, repair and replace sewer laterals and house traps, replace water heaters and cast iron stacks, run and repair gas lines, and service the steam and hot water boilers many older Philadelphia homes still heat with. We also replace lead and galvanized water service lines, fit backwater valves and sump pumps, and handle fixtures from toilets to shower valves. The full list is on our plumbing services page.
Most of that work is in homes, from Far Northeast twins to older rowhome blocks and the suburbs just over the city line. We also work for storefronts, restaurants and landlords.
How a job runs, from the call to the cleanup
A person answers the phone, any hour. If water is moving, we start by walking you to the shutoff. Then we ask what you are seeing and where, which usually narrows the job before anyone arrives.
On site, the plumber diagnoses the problem itself rather than guessing from the phone call. On drain and sewer calls that often means opening a cleanout or running a camera before anyone talks about digging. You hear what failed, what the fix is and what it costs before work starts, and the permit is pulled when the job needs one.
When the work is done we test it, by pressure or by running water through it, carry out the old parts and clean up. If the problem traces back to something we could not fix on that visit, we tell you what it is and what it would take.
Where we work
Our office is at 2569 Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. That puts the Far Northeast, the Old York Road towns in Montgomery County and lower Bucks County within easy reach, and it is why our area page stops where it does. One phone number covers all of it.
Who writes our guides
Clifford Haskell, our plumbing guides editor, writes the plumbing help guides on this site from the questions owners ask us most: lead service lines, basement backups, house traps, frozen pipes and water heater costs.
Before you call
- If water is moving, close the main valve by the meter.
- Note which fixtures are affected and when it started.
- If you smell gas, leave the house and call your gas utility from outside first.
- Have the address and the best way into the basement ready.
